Substitute Teacher Employment


Northeastern Wayne School Corporation is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers. Northeastern requires:
                *A completed online application
                *A current (not more than 1 year old) expanded criminal history
                *A current Indiana Substitute License or a valid Indiana teaching license.
 
Interested candidates should complete the online application located on corporation website at www.nws.k12.in.us  Click on Employment/Job Postings/Substitute Teacher. You will be directed to the Wayne County Consortium of Applitrak where you will create a login and password that will allow you to apply for a position as substitute teacher as well as other positions.
An expanded criminal history may be obtained through Safe Hiring Solutions. Their link is on the Northeastern website: Employment/Background check. The fee for the expanded criminal history is $31. If you have a current expanded criminal history, please contact Jackie Webb at jwebb@nws.k12.in.us .
When the background check has been ordered and the application completed, please notify Jackie Webb at jwebb@nws.k12.in.us. Once ordered, the background check is usually sent to the corporation in 3-4 business days. Upon receipt of a satisfactory background check, you will be sent the link to the state licensing site to obtain an Indiana Substitute License. The fee for the substitute license is $15.
When you obtain your substitute license, please send a copy to Jackie Webb by mail or email a copy to jwebb@nws.k12.in.us. Upon issuance of your license, your name will be reviewed by administration for approval. Tax documents will be then be sent to you to set up a payroll file.
Northeastern Wayne School Corporations pays substitute teachers $70 per day. Further questions about the application process may be directed to:
